West Island seniors are being offered free transportation to the polls on election day by a service specializing in seniors’ care.

“Many seniors are reluctant to ask for help from strangers,” said Peter Eusanio, president of Comfort Keepers (Eastern Canada). "Our caregivers are bonded and insured. They have all undergone background checks and specialized training to understand the specific needs and concerns of seniors.

“This free service on election day will allow seniors the independence to participate freely in the election process," he added.

Volunteer drivers from the community can inquire about participating in the program by calling Comfort Keepers.

Any senior who needs free transportation to the polls on Oct. 14 can call 514-695-3198 to register for a ride on election day.
