PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Residents of Prince Albert, Sask., braved wet weather as they lined the streets for a procession to honour a Canadian soldier who died in Afghanistan.
The procession was for Cpl. Dustin Wasden, who was killed along with two other soldiers on Aug. 20.
People waved Canadian flags and motorists honked their horns as the Prince Albert-born Wasden was taken to a memorial gardens for cremation.
Among those who turned out to pay their respects was high school student Erin Roddismit.
She says she wanted to say farewell to the fallen soldier because her brother will soon be leaving for a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Another spectator, history teacher Dennis Ogrodnik, says several of his former students have joined the military and will be going overseas - something he says he respects the soldiers for doing.
