THUNDER BAY, Ont. - A Thunder Bay, Ont., man charged with manslaughter has been released on bail with several restrictions.
Mervin Spence, 21, appeared in court Thursday, accused in the death of Scott Roger James, 44, of Thunder Bay. James died in hospital after being found collapsed outside of a local bar in the early morning hours of Dec 13., 2007.
The bail restrictions mean the accused will essentially be confined to his home with his parents.
Thunder Bay police laid the charge after a lengthy investigation based on a coroner's report and consultation with the Crown.
Spence's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 3.
