KALISPELL, Mont. - A man wanted for a string of cabin break-ins in northern Montana has been arrested after apparently spending almost a week in backcountry, some of it across the border in Canada.
Forty-four-year-old John Lynn is accused of breaking into several cabins in the Polebridge area and shooting at the long-closed Trail Creek border station north of Polebridge.
Lynn is also accused of pointing a .22 calibre rifle at a man and his son who confronted him in their neighbour's cabin on Aug. 17.
After that incident, Lynn apparently fled north into Glacier National Park and across border into Canadian border.
Officials say Lynn was arrested Friday in Glacier Park.
He is being held in the Flathead County jail on suspicion of burglary and assault with a weapon.
