TORONTO - The federal government is providing an additional $2 million in relief money to help those affected by the conflict in Georgia.
International Co-operation Minister Beverley Oda made the announcement in Toronto today.
Oda initially announced $1 million in aid for Georgia on Aug. 12.
Hostilities between Georgia and Russia over the Georgian provinces of South Ossetia and Abkhazia have displaced an estimated 159,000 people since Aug. 8.
Oda says delivering aid to some regions remains difficult due to the ongoing presence of military forces.
