QUEBEC - Quebec Premier Jean Charest has called a byelection to get his unelected health minister into the provincial legislature.
The Quebec City-area byelection will be held Sept. 29 with recently appointed Health Minister Yves Bolduc seeking to win the riding previously held by Philippe Couillard. Couillard, who was health minister for five years, resigned from politics on June 25 to work in the private sector.
The Parti Quebecois has already nominated a candidate and the Action democratique du Quebec will announce one soon.
