RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, Que. - A Quebec man charged with first-degree murder in the death of a political aide will stand trial next January.
The murder trial for Francis Proulx, 29, will begin in Superior Court in the eastern Quebec community of Riviere-du-Loup on Jan. 26. Proulx was arrested last May after Nancy Michaud's corpse was found in a house in Riviere-Ouelle.
Michaud worked as a political aide to Natural Resources Minister Claude Bechard.
Proulx will face other charges, including sexual assault and necrophilia, in separate Quebec court proceedings on Oct. 24.
