ST-JEROME, Que. - A man convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old he lured on the Internet had to be taken from court Tuesday in an ambulance after he fell ill.
Allan Tirado, 46, was crying and had trouble breathing when he came to court for a sentencing hearing.
Judge Jean Beaulieu asked Tirado if he was OK and the man replied he felt sick. An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Beaulieu put the case over until Friday, when he said he would deliver his sentence.
In 2003, Tirado communicated with a young girl he met in an Internet chat room. He learned the girl's address and within two hours he went to the home where she was alone and attacked her.
