Job well done

I would like to commend the outstanding work done by the medics and paramedics in the West Island as a part of the ongoing H1N1 vaccination campaign.

They have shown remarkable efficiency in carrying out this surprisingly complex process, as well as admirable dedication to the well-being of people in our local community.

On behalf of my riding, I would like to thank each of the people involved for their hard work.

To enlighten Ginger Petty (‘Coyotes breed fear in Ile Bizard,’ The Chronicle, Dec. 2), coyotes have been around before people. If you move to the country or a wooded area, you have to live with the wildlife - if not, get a condo in Montreal. People have killed the wolves, therefore the Coyotes are thriving. When Michel Desrosiers says that trapping coyotes with a snare is humane - he must be kidding. They don't necessarily die right away - therefore it is blatant animal cruelty and again a way to make money out of these poor creatures. Also these traps are more of a threat to a stray dog or cat or even a family pet who happens to fall upon it. I suggest that Ms. Petty walk her dog along the wood and not in it and that she fences in her yard and appreciate the beauty of nature without jeopardizing her pet. Killing wild animals to satisfy our desire to take over the woods is not acceptable.
