Tierney, Benedetti ousted

Ste. Anne de Bellevue and Beaconsfield will both have new mayors after incumbents Bill Tierney, who had been in charge since 1994 (with a sojourn as a Montreal borough councillor between 2002 and 2006) and Bob Benedetti, who led the de-merged Beaconsfield, were both ousted in favour of Francis Deroo in Ste. Anne and David Pollock, who had been a Beaconsfield councillor.

In Dollard des Ormeaux, Ed Janiszewski soundly defeated Shameem Siddiqui with about 90 per cent of the vote.

In Ile Bizard-Ste. Genevieve, Richard Belanger (Union Montreal) will continue on as borough mayor, and although full results have not yet come in, Monique Worth defeated Michael Labelle (Projet Montreal), who fought a hard campaign, and Latif Zaki (Vision Montreal.
