Election 2009 results: Janiszewski, Geller win; Pollock ahead of Benedetti early

Some early results have come in so far and an upset is brewing in Beaconsfield. With two districts reporting, challenger David Pollock is leading incumbent Bob Benedetti by a two-to-one margin. Stay tuned here for more.



Dollard des Ormeaux mayor Ed Janiszewski, to no one's surprise, has defeated challenger Shameem Siddiqui, with about 90 per cent of the vote.

The voter turnout in the town was quite low, but Janiszewski said that was due to voters knowing he was going to win.

In Pointe Claire, with seven councillors and the mayor already acclaimed, incumbent district 1 councillor Rob Geller defeated challenger Claude Cuillerier with 816 votes to 421 for the challenger
