MGH 5th Annual Art Show opens April 14 with a vernissage and wine and cheese from 5 to 9 p.m., and continues on the 15th and 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 5. West Island Citizen Advocacy is looking for volunteers. A Dollard des Ormeaux man with Lou Gehrig’s and Parkinson’s Disease needs someone to stay with him Thursday afternoons. A 91-year-old Kirkland woman would benefit from friendly visits. Call Nellie at 514-694-5850. A Kirkland senior citizen needs someone to accompany her to medical appointments and shopping. She speaks Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, and Lebanese. A woman with physical difficulties in her 50s needs practical support on errands every two weeks or so. Call Helene at 514-694-5850. Moving Ahead program at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute pairs volunteers with patients with a mental illness for a better quality of life. A volunteer is needed to befriend a patient living in a foster home in Lachine; call 514-761-6131, ext. 4106.
